Prom 2009

- Prom Night
When I woke up on Saturday, I wasn't even sure if I had a date to go with; Mike was mad at me and wasn't picking up any of my texts or calls. I did my makeup anyways, Amy came over to get nail polish, and Katie came over to do my hair in the morning. Mike finally called me and decided that he would go after all, so he picked me up at 3 and we went to Burlington Coat Factory to buy his vest and belt. We then headed to Cheesecake Factory, where I stuffed myself with the bread and fried macaroni and cheese. By the time my chicken alfredo came out, I was too full and had to box the whole thing. We went to Amy's house afterwards, got dressed, and took pictures outside. Everyone looked so good! We're probably the first group I've seen where everyone looked pretty or handsome and no one had a retarded dress. Mike and I went to Cues afterwards without the rest of the group since they had to go to the Marconi early. The pictures came out super cute even though I'm retarded at decorating and he ended up doing a better job than I did. We then headed to the Marconi in Tustin for our prom, where we hung out with the group, ate fishsticks, and danced. Mike's such a good dancer; you can tell his years of clubbing helped him out. The people on the dance floor started to smell after a while, and my shoes were killing me, so we just took more pictures and had a little talk. We finally went back to the dance floor when Beyonce - Halo started playing and took more pictures. The final song of the night was Kc & Jojo - All My Life, which made me super happy because I couldn't have asked for a better song to end the night. After prom, we hung out for a bit more and he finally dropped me off. It was an overall amazing night, and everything worked out exactly as I had hoped.
- Yesterday
I was so, so tired from prom, but I woke up around 11 nonetheless to go to my dad's friend's house since his son, Tom, had just graduated from Cal State Fullerton. After Tom and his friends left to go to some other parties, we didn't really do much except play with Darin, sleep, wake up, eat, take webcam pictures, and eat some more. We finally left around 12:30 and I was completely pooped. Darin's mom is pregnant and we were trying to come up with some cute names starting with D to match him, but Devin and Derrick are all taken by her friends. So far, I like Jarren the most because it rhymes and we can't come up with any other cute names starting with a D.

- Today
Memorial Day today! Which means no school and no work for my parents, which also means waking up to some delicious food from them. My relatives came over for a family barbecue. My dad's been drinking this whole weekend; Friday night, Saturday night at two different parties, Sunday from 2pm to 1am, and today from 12pm to 7pm. I watched She's Too Young, a Lifetime movie about a group of girls who got syphilis, and chilled with all of my cousins. Mimi told me yesterday that my grandpa was dying, which I hadn't known and still didn't know very much about. But I overheard my aunt telling my uncle today that she, my aunts, and my mom had cried earlier today when they went to visit my grandpa in the hospital. I knew it had to be serious because in my seventeen years of living, I can only remember my mom crying a maximum of two or three times. Turns out that my grandpa isn't just dying, but it's turned into a pulling-the-plug situation. This was something that took me aback because I always read about how other families had to make the decision of whether or not to pull the plug, but I never thought my own family would be faced with that decision. My uncle was talking about how he doesn't want to pull the plug because we don't have the right to determine what my grandpa would have wanted for his own life. But my other uncle was drunk, and whenever he's drunk he starts talking about how he feels. He was crying and saying that when he went to visit my grandpa, my grandpa was saying my uncle's name and yelling that he was hurting a lot. Tonight and for the next couple days, they probably will be getting together to discuss what they want to do, just like they had to discuss whether they wanted him to get the surgery to remove his tumor. Honestly, I don't even know what I would want for my grandpa. The only thing I can think about is how my family, and especially my grandma, will be affected.

Strawberry Festival

Went to the Strawberry Festival after school today. Nothing new; as always, it's packed by Mexicans who think they're hot and Asian girls with overly-teased hair. I got hit on by a butch lesbian. Almost threw up when she said "Damn you is fine!" Anywho, actually went shopping at the little booths that they have set up. They were killing me with all the jewelry! We ended up buying a bracelet and four necklaces, and I also bought a pair of sandals there because I learned my lesson of not buying them at Baker's anymore. Bought a bunch of Rice Krispies stuff at Stater Bros afterwards. Now it's almost 12 and I still need to take a long shower, fix my dress, and get as much sleep as possible. I bet I'll end up getting only four hours of sleep, as always.

Not A Bad Weekend

- Friday
Had a huge pre-menstrual cycle headache, so didn't do much besides going to eat delicious Thai food at Little Elephant with my mother.

- Saturday
Woke up at 5:50 in the freaken morning because my dad wanted me to go to a funeral with him. Left at 8:30 to go to Rose Hills for the burial, and when we got there, the black lady was like "Whose service are you attending?" My dad didn't even know the lady who died's name, so I said "We just know it's an Asian lady," and the black lady was like "Oh, I got alot of those." Apparently they had 32 burials that day since that cemetery was probably big enough to fit all the people who died in the Civil War! So the black lady goes "Is it Lydia Wong?" and we heard a Chinese-sounding name, so we just went to the chapel where she told us to go. Turns out it was the wrong lady and the lady we were looking for actually had a Vietnamese name. Pretty embarassing, so we spent an hour playing Thirteen while waiting for the people to arrive from mass, but my dad finally called the lady who died's son-in-law and he said they wouldn't be there 'til 11:30. It was 11 at the time and we were starving, so we were like "Welp, it's the thought of us waking up to be here that counts," and ditched the burial to go to Chinatown for dimsum at some overly expensive place. Afterwards, Mimi and I went to some of the stores and I ended up buying a bunch of eyelash stuff since it's so cheap there. I definitely wanna go back there soon. Wow! Just as I typed that, my mom said "Let's go to LA and Chinatown next weekend." Coinky dink or what! Anywho, we got back at 2, and Mike picked me up at 4. We went to West Mall, where he got black slacks from Macy's, and then went to get Starbucks before going to Mile Square Park. We talked about some things but didn't really get anywhere. He looked too cute for me to continue to be mad at though, so we agreed that he would start trusting me more and I would stop giving him reasons not to trust me. Went to get popcorn chicken afterwards and rushed home since Darin's birthday party was at 8. Hung out with Katie and Christy and stuff but got bored since there were a bunch of Asian gangsters and, contrary to what people think about me, I no longer enjoy being around those type of people. So I went home and Mike came over since he was still in Garden Grove with his friends. He left around 11, I watched a great episode of Cheaters where these two white girls kept punching each other, and knocked out because I was pooped.
- Sunday
My relatives came over for my mom's food today and I chilled with Kathleen, who's obsessively in love with her teacher. She just read this and said "I hope he reads this, he'll know about my love in four years." Disgusting. My grandma, who has Alzheimer's, kept leaving our house because she says that she has to go home to cook my grandpa rice. I guess she doesn't realize that they got evicted from their house three months ago, and my grandpa has been in the nursery home for the past couple weeks. I said hi to her today, and she turned to my aunt and said "How does she know me?" Witnessing the effects of Alzheimer's first-hand is pretty sad. As for the Lakers game, I don't have much to say about it since I'm sure you guys all watched it too. I was really surprised that Orlando won though, and by such a large margin. I thought the Celtics were gonna take it for sure.

8:39pm: Window started shaking and Mimi started looking around, and my initial reaction was "Fuck, window's open, what if a rapist is outside." But then my mom screamed "Earthquake! Run outside!" So I took a second to consider whether I wanted to grab my phone and laptop but figured I was more important so I ran outside. Earthquakes scare me since I'm always afraid it's the big one. Mimi asked her Mike if he felt it, and he said "That was just you walking." Lmao!

Baggage And All

Sooner or later every man has gotta settle down
And find a girl that's real, but it seems she can't be found
I know I found myself a woman that can give me all she has
But she's got her own issues
Sometimes she's a little demanding, not so understanding
Gotta have it her way or it'll be no way
Ain't quick to compromise, not the first to apologize
But that's okay, cause I'll take her baggage
Everything she do, know that we go through
Only makes me love her some more
And though she ain't perfect, said I know she's worth it
So I'll take her baggage and all
Baggage and all

I wish you could have been that man for me, but you let your jealousy and insecurities get the best of you. If you could have subordinated your ego and actually listened to my explanations for once, you would have seen that you were the only one. You made me remember how good it felt to be with someone, but you also reminded me of how good it was to be single. What's better, to fall for someone and get hurt, or to keep your guard up and protect yourself? I guess the answer to that age-old question really depends on the stage you're at in your life, and who you may happen to stumble upon one day.

Finally Done

Today was my last AP exam, so of course I'm happy that I don't have to write essays for 2 hour blocks anymore. I think I got a 3 on my Biology exam and a 4 on my English exam. I thought that with the exams being over, I'd finally have time to finish all of my homework and the upcoming post-AP projects. But with my new satellite, all I've been doing is watching movies. I watched Ratatouille the other day, can't remember what I watched yesterday, and watched Vacancy and Untraceable today. Ratatouille was so cute! And Untraceable was pretty damn amazing. It was about an FBI agent who had to track down a dude that was committing murders live on the Internet and really showed how fucked up and twisted society has become nowadays. On a lighter note, the Lakers won by 40 yesterday. I wasn't excited about the fact that they're up 3-2 now. I was excited about the fact that the Lakers just put a gag in all the shit talkers' mouths with that game. I'm so tired of how people won't stop running their mouths when the Lakers lose, but don't say anything when the Lakers win. There's this guy on my Myspace friends who always posts up bulletins saying "Fuck Fakers," "Kobe sucks dick," "Houston got this one in the bag," "Fakers are overrated," "Fakers got their ass whupped," etc. Thank you, Lakers, for shutting him up for once. He hasn't posted a single bulletin within the last 24 hours. Oh, and Mike just ordered the dress for me. Thank you baby! Hopefully it'll look good and arrive as early as Amy's did.

Stressful Week

- Past Week
Hadn't been able to blog this whole week since I was busy catching up on sleep and studying whenever I had the chance. Wednesday was my AP Calculus exam, which I predict I got a 3 or 4 on. We went shopping afterwards but didn't find anything. Thursday was my AP Biology final, which I thought was a fail, but the best score was an 85 out of 120, so my score shouldn't be so bad based on that curve. Friday was my APUSH exam, which wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, so I'm pretty sure I got a 4 or 5. Two exams down, two more to go. Random thought, but I ordered DirectTv yesterday and I'm really hoping they have all my channels, especially USA.

- Yesterday
Woke up at 6:30 yesterday morning because I was so used to waking up at that time during the week. I was gonna go back to sleep, but decided to watch a movie instead. I ended up watching a documentary called Dear Zachary: A Letter To A Son About His Father. Omg, one of THE saddest freaken movies ever. The only other movie I cried as much on was Brotherhood of War. I know, I'm a pansy. But the documentary pissed me off! Why would they let a psycho murderer out of jail! Twice! And look what she did; killed herself and her baby as a result. I wanna be a judge now, so I can sit there naked under my black gown and send crazy bitches like her to be injected. Anywho, so after watching that, Mike came to pick me up and Mimi wanted to go too. The only thing is that he and his friend traded cars, so he was driving a 2-seater. That was such an uncomfortable ride, with Mimi's thigh pressing on mine. We were supposed to make a quick run to West Mall so I could buy my shoes, but we ended up staying there til 6. I was pissed that prom was costing so much money and nothing I liked came in my color or size (how hard is it to have a red dress and size 7 1/2 shoes fuckers!), but then Mike bought us Panda Express so that made me feel better. We watched two dogs having sex in the pet store. That was the first time I actually saw a dog penis insert a dog... vagina? Do dogs have vaginas? I don't know what it is that dog penises get inserted to, but yeah. Mike was so excited... freak. I bought these really cute heels afterwards, but I wasn't super happy about them since they were too big. Then Mimi found another pair that actually fit, and even though they weren't as cute, at least they fit and were cheaper than the previous heels, so with the extra money I bought earrings and eyelashes. Yay, all I need now is my dress, clutch, miscellaneous items, and boutonniere, if Mike decides that he wants to do the whole corsage thing. I felt so bad for him, having to wait for my indecisive and never-satisfied ass to buy something. But at least his man made a buzzer-beater 3-pointer to win the game. Left my sister at the mall so that Bobby could come pick her up, went to have some alone time, picked her up at Thai Nakorn, then went home. Next week, I shall set apart more alone time for my love since I don't need to go shopping anymore.

- Today

Went to my aunt's house for a Mother's Day family barbecue. Mimi kept attempting to do photo shoots of me. Lots of yummy food, and I will definitely be spending time at their pool during the summer. Let's hope my perverted cousins won't be home when I'm there though.

Melancholy Day

Woke up at 5 today to take the SAT Subjects, and of course, I didn't finish my sections in time. Went back to my house afterwards, got ready, and watched Amy practically kill herself while attempting to wash her car. Mike picked me and my sister up, then picked Amy up since her incompetent ass had to go home and change her socks. We went to Mainplace Mall for prom shopping, but every store we went into either didn't have our size or didn't have our color. We didn't want to leave without anything, so we went to Macy's so Mike could buy his stuff for prom. He got a red Geoffrey Beene dress shirt, Levi's 511s, and a black tie, Calvin Klein I think. Throw on his black vest, black and red Js, and a fitted cap and there's his prom outfit. Guess we're leaning on the informal side, but I can't really imagine him all suited up anyways. The people kept kicking us out when we were in the fitting room with him to help him try on stuff. So annoying; it wasn't like we were gonna rape him or the cholos in the other stalls! Afterwards, we dropped Mimi and Amy off so we could have some alone time. We were just talking, and when I looked away, he went through my call logs and saw that I had missed calls from 5 or 6 guys. I showed him that they were missed calls and not incoming, so I thought he was okay with that. Apparently not, because he started acting all weird over text when he got back to LA. I went to sleep and when I woke up, he was drinking with his friends, so I went back to sleep and woke up around 3:30, only to find that he had come home and was tripping over the missed calls. Jealousy gets the best of us sometimes, and that's what was going on with him. He was so convinced I was messing around on him with guys from my past that he completely disregarded all of my explanations and reasoning. Now I know how he feels when I'm tripping on him out of nowhere about his past girls. I just wish he hadn't done it at this time because I don't get to see him for another week and wanted to end today on a good note, and I wish he could see I'm so dick-whipped over him that it's almost embarrassing. To add to this 'eh' day, the weather was gray and gloomy, I was sick and felt shitty, Amy made me cry, and Chicago lost to Boston and got eliminated from the playoffs.
